Patch is a gorgeous 8 year old Border Collie boy who came into the Oldies Club rescue because of his owner’s ill health. Patch is in an Oldies Club foster home in Gosport, Hampshire, waiting for someone to offer him a permanent home.

Patch is a lovely lad who had lived with dogs previously and is somewhat submissive with the resident dominant Yorkie at his foster home. Patch is never aggressive. He walks with a large group of dogs daily with no problems whatsoever.

Patch lived with cats in a previous home and he shows no interest in them if he meets them on walks. We were told that Patch was used to children visiting his previous home. He has been affectionate with the children he has met since coming into foster care and we think that he should be OK to live with well-trained children aged 12+.

Patch loves walks and fetching his tennis ball. Once he has bonded with you there is no problem with letting him off the lead as his recall is very good. He pulls on the lead and will benefit from some reward-based training to improve this.

For his new owners, Patch would pick folks who love to play! He would suit semi-retired people, part-time workers, or a family with someone at home. Most of all he needs active people as he loves to be outside having fun with you.

Patch is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and has been wormed and flea treated. Patch has mild arthritis in his hips but is fine as long as he doesn’t overdo things. He has some Metacam to take when he needs it. He has a few lumpy patches on his back which were caused by a skin condition that he had when he first came into rescue. This should continue to resolve over time.
