Sparkey is nearly 3 years old. He is a tri coloured Border Collie. Has been in one home from a pup. He is a real gem with other dogs and children of say 6 upwards. Sparkey does like company. He can be left for 3 hours about. That would be after a settling in period naturally. He likes company exercise and hugs. He loves his ball or his frizby. Typically will fetch till the cows or sheep come home. He will hand the ball to you or put it in your lap if you sit down. In the field he will drop the ball and if it’s not quite near enough he will obligingly drop it closer. Don’t we love those Border Collie traits. He has been living with a Bijon who is 3 yrs his senior and he shows her a lot of deference, eg not eating till she does and also with treats, she gets served first, in his eyes. He waits till she’s had her treats. Quite sweet really. Sparkey is quite a sensitive boy in that way. If you yawn he follows suit. A sign of empathy. Not keen on traffic. Bit nervous in town streets. A quieter area is just ideal for Sparkey. He is not cat tested, will bark at them. Never had a chase but not lived with them.
This dog like his kind is energetic and would like his mind occupied. A patient owner will train this dog up well. He is intelligent. He is waiting to be shown. He loves to offer his poor to sit and to obey. At the moment he has the usual rituals but would be happy to learn more stuff. He has come up for homing as he was being left far too long and began chewing a paw! Poor paw! He wants a challenge. Probably agility or flyball or some other discipline and then company and hugs. He is neutered chipped and vacc.
