Baillie is a handsome Border Collie who is looking for a home through no fault of his own. Baillie is a typical Border Collie who is full of energy and fun. He loves to be active physically and mentally. His favourite walks are to either the beach or the woods where he can be off lead running around. Baillie enjoys playing with a ball and would happily play all day if he could. He is very affectionate and is very happy when he is snuggled on the sofa next to you. Baillie is a friendly boy who is happy when people come to visit him in his house and make a fuss of him. He may bark when someone knocks on the door but always greets them with a waggy tail. Unfortunately Baillie isn’t suitable to live with children as he has never happily lived with children before and he has also snapped at the current owners grandchild. The child came from behind and we believe Baillie got a fright. Baillie also can resource guard his food. With positive training this can be helped.
Baillie is happy to meet other dogs when out on his walks, however he prefers mixing with female dogs. He will chase cats therefore is not suitable to live with them. Baillie is happy to be left alone for a couple of hours at a time, however he would prefer to have company during the day. He is not destructive when left alone. Baillie fully housetrained and he travels well in the car. Baillie is used to having access to his own secure garden and he would love his own garden in his new home. Baillie does pull when walking on a lead however with further training this can be helped. He does have a good recall when off lead. Baillie can be nervous of busy traffic and can get anxious when walking next to a road. He is better suited to live in the countryside away from busy roads.
Baillie is a very clever boy and he knows lots of commands such as sit, down, car, walkies, come here, leave and bed. He enjoys being brushed and will happily let you brush him. Baillie’s new owner must have Border Collie experience to help bring Baillie on. He will need to continue with his training to help correct some of his behaviours. Can you offer this gorgeous boy a forever home?
