This lovely lad is Lucky, he is a 10 year old male Border Collie who came into us when his owner sadly passed away and the family could no longer take care of him. When Lucky came to us he was quite matted and so he has now been shaved to help make him more comfortable, so if you do come down to see him, don be put off by his unusual appearance – it will grow back! Understandably, Lucky has been used to the comforts in life and so he is quite confused in kennels. Lucky is a sweet boy, he likes a cuddle and plenty of fuss and attention and he knows his basic commands. Despite being 10, Lucky is in good health aside from being overweight but don’t let his size fool you, he still loves to play with his favourite tennis ball and has no trouble chasing it in our yard! His new owners would need to be prepared to continue with his diet and an exercise plan to help him try and lose the extra weight! Lucky will need a quiet home where he can get lots of time and attention spent with him, he does need a little basic training but we feel in a home he will soon settle back into the familiar routine and being a Collie, he is a quick learner.
Ideally any children in the home will be older so as they can understand Luckys needs and requirements and he would also be the only pet. He is overly bad with other dogs he just likes his space to be respected and will tell a young bouncy dog to back off if they are a bit much for him. Lucky will make a somebody a wonderful companion, he just needs to be given his second chance. If you feel that Lucky could be the boy for you, please enquire for more.
